Tech N9ne is without a doubt one of the most prolific artists to come out of the Midwest.
Holding down a record 24 studio albums, Tech N9ne released a three-part Fear in 2020. The first part called ENTERFEAR with 19 tracks, the second part called MORE FEAR with 7 tracks and the final third part called Fear Exodus with 8 tracks.
The album opens up with Tech N9ne’s Rally the Troops Intro taped live in Kansas City. Rally the troops is a call to arms for all Tech N9ne fans in the audience which you will be familiar with if you’ve ever experienced a Tech N9ne concert.
The next track EPOD sees Tech N9ne representing the Midwest proper as soon as the album starts:
“Coming from the middle of the map (the throne) / everybody walking with a strap (the chrome) / busting on ‘em properly, I’ll make ‘em all a mockery / and shaking haters off of me, I’m Pat (Mahome)”
JL then drops a wicked flow after Tech:
“Making sure they heard me like I had (loop on) / havoc we done started in the lab (Wuhan) / only way that you can get any info outta me is if I’m rapping cause I had that Breaking Bad (news on) / pardon me if I be looking mad (Putin) / Harden when I do get in my bag (shooting) / I cannot afford to take another loss cost when ain’t nothing taken off like a bad (coupon)”
It’s always a pleasure to hear Tech N9ne’s crew featured on his tracks.
Next is the massive crew track I Think featuring Bernz, Godemis, JL, Jehry Robinson, Joey Cool, King Iso, Krizz Kaliko, Maez301, Stevie Stone, UBI and Wrekonize.
King Iso steals the show with his rapid Midwest flow:
“I think that I’m alone because the positive vibes / and I think I got Corona, better toss me a line / because the suicide attempts, I think I’ve already died / and your God is a liar, Tupac is alive / think I sold more drugs than a doctor prescribes / doing two white lines like a new Dodge Viper / I think rappers in the Matrix, do not cypher / no kidding, but I gotta ask, ‘Who got diapers?’ / I think I’m too hot for you broads, and you not nicer / eating goulash on new plates, do all China / going snake and bat shit like Wuhan diners”
Tech’s Mex is a call out to all rappers who’ve bitten Tech N9ne’s rapid fire style over the years. Tech declares:
“They be loving the way that N9na chop it up into pieces / they wanna thieve it, not even keep it a secret / but the way I kick it, they couldn’t stick it with adhesive / they wanna reach it up on the level the beast is / but they release it, with fake American cheeses, that is the cheapest / they know the price of the seepage I freak with / why in this business, we go make peace with the leeches?”
Tech’s not finished as he also says:
“Said you came up with it, then you lying like a Leo / I’m quite the hero, but the passive level has went to zero / try me, I’ll roll you up like a taquito / with chicken and chorizo, bean sauce / cause of biters, the N9na had many dreams lost / but the one I became to be, cut the sting off / when the king boss brings frost, making your lowest temperature seem false”
Another notable track on the album is Becoming Too Famous where Tech N9ne talks about his experience with fame:
“Everybody really dig ya / even at your mama funeral they wanna come and try to take a picture / doesn’t matter who you with bruh, that ain’t what you bout to get sir / it’s a time and place for everything and this ain’t one of ‘em and I don’t kid ya / even when I’m airporting, can’t sit on public porcelain / people catch me going in, they right behind me talking trying to kick the door in / I just wanna shit in private, but they never realize it / they don’t know when they will catch you again so they come in overly excited / but I would not trade this life in (nay) / making you smile is too enticing (hey) / I’ma say it’s been a couple of weeks, when I was walking to the car, caused a wreck / like Marshall said that happened to him, now people crash when they see Tech (aye)”
Tech N9ne is only getting better with time. Let’s see what he has to offer in the year to come.
